Upload a receipt

Updated June 21, 2026 ยท Stacko team

How do I add a receipt to Stacko?

Snap a photo or upload JPG, PNG, or PDF files (up to 10 MB each). One file or many โ€” Stacko's AI reads the details so you don't type them in.

How it helps

A photo becomes a clean expense record โ€” vendor, date, amount, and category filled in for you. Capture expenses as they happen instead of rebuilding a year of spending at tax time.

Using it

  • Phone: tap Take photo, or Upload to pick one or more files from your library.
  • Desktop: drag files onto the upload area, or click to select. Add one receipt or a whole folder.
  • Stacko fills in the details โ€” review them and save.
  • No photo? Use Type it in and enter one receipt by hand. Stacko marks it *accepted with no image* so your records stay honest about what's backed by proof.

Good to know

  • Accepted files: JPG, PNG, PDF, up to 10 MB.
  • A flat, well-lit shot of the whole receipt reads best.
  • You need to be signed in โ€” the AI step runs on Stacko's servers.

The boundary

Stacko stores and organizes receipts. It does not file taxes.
